MP INTERACTS WITH STAFF OF THE ASSEMBLY
The Member of Parliament for Berekum West Constituency has paid a working visit to the Berekum West District Assembly at Jinijini.
The Honorable MP, Kwaku Agyenim Boateng was received by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Oppong and the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Charles Yaw Asamoah on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023. When the Hon. DCE and the Coordinating Director asked for the purpose of his visit, the Hon. MP asserted that, he was in the Constituency to engage with his constituents and other stakeholders within the Constituency. This he believes will afford him the opportunity to get a first hand information and enable him strategize on how best he can work together with and for the constituents to develop Berekum West Constituency. In view of this, he is at the District Assembly to familiarize himself with the hardworking staff and also to interact with them as stakeholders of his constituency.
The Hon. DCE granted him the opportunity to have a meeting with the entire staff of the Assembly after meeting the Management Committee members of the Assembly.
In an opening remarks by the District Chief Executive, he welcomed and thanked the Member of Parliament for paying the Assembly such a timely and purposeful visit. He also thanked all staff for their hard work whiles asking them to speak up without any intimidation as the MP is there to listen to their plights and contribute his quota to the development of the Assembly and by extension, the District.
The various staff at the Departments within the Assembly raised some challenges bedeviling the progress of their works during the meeting. Amongst these were; lack of logistics, untimely payment of casual workers salaries and lack of accommodation for Staff.
The MP in his address to the concerns, appreciated and acknowledged the contributions of the staff to the Berekum West District. He assured them of his commitment to addressing those issues which are in his capacity as soon as possible. He promised to provide a refrigerator for the Records Management Unit, a Laptop for the Management Information System Officer and a Laptop for the Works Department. He also provided some financial assistance to about three Casual Workers of the Assembly.
The Member of Parliament was accompanied by the New Patriotic Party’s Chairman for Berekum West, Hon Peter Asoma Boampong.
